# Sandbox and go-live

> Build in sandbox, then switch to live in three steps.

## Build in sandbox

1. Sign up at `https://dashboard.onstacks.io`. Sandbox is available immediately.
2. Create a sandbox API key under **Developer**. The full key is shown once; store it server-side.
3. Register a webhook with a publicly reachable HTTPS URL and confirm the test event arrives.
4. Build against `environment=sandbox`. Product pages list the test data to use.

## Go live

1. Complete business verification in the dashboard. Live is gated until it is approved, and the dashboard shows a **Not yet verified** tag until then.
2. Create a live API key and a live webhook. Sandbox keys and webhooks do not carry over.
3. Change `environment=sandbox` to `environment=live`. Nothing else in your integration changes.

  Keep live keys on trusted servers only. Never put them in browser bundles, mobile apps, repositories, or logs.
